Our Origins
The story of Proverbial Northern began in the small village of Pronorsk, where our ancestor Lawrence Charles Xavier Pronorski first experimented with rare mineral dyes and northern timber. His obsession with the elusive periwinkle hue became the hallmark of our family's craft.
Journey to Canada
In search of new horizons and the vast forests of the North, the Pronorski family immigrated to Canada in the early 20th century. Carrying nothing but their tools and the secret formulas for their signature finishes, they established a small workshop that would grow into the world's most exclusive flooring resource.
The Modern Era
Today, Andrew Pronorski continues the tradition, blending ancestral techniques with modern innovation. Each floor we install is a testament to four generations of dedication to the art of the rare periwinkle floor.
